LANSING (WKZO) -- More Michigan residents are falling for a scam that the federal government will pay their utility bills despite efforts of utility companies to warn about it.  Consumers Energy says at least one-thousand of their customers have become victims so far.  The scam involves someone calling and saying they work for the federal government and says the Obama administration will be picking up the tab for your power, gas or water bill.  They ask for personal information like bank account numbers and Social Security numbers, and instead of helping pay the bill, they've instead swiped your identity and you could be out a lot of money.
