ESPN’s ranking of Big Ten quarterbacks has Michigan senior quarterback Denard Robinson as tops in the league and also lists the Wolverines as having the second best depth at that position in the conference behind Purdue. Michigan State has a ways to go, according to the network, with Kirk Cousin’s heir apparent, Andrew Maxwell rated tenth and the Spartans also tenth on the depth scale at quarterback. Robinson’s backup, Devin Gardner, is considered a capable fill in while at M-S-U,freshman Connor Cook is waiting in the wings after being under center in the Spartan’s spring game while Maxwell was nursing an injury. It leaves Michigan State with a pair of signal callers who haven’t seen significant playing time.
