Sage Stallone's Investigation Transferred to Robbery Homicide, LAPD Confirms

By Abbey Stone, Hollywood.com Staff

The investigation regarding the untimely death of Sage Stallone at age 36, who was found dead in his Studio City, CA, home on Friday, has been transferred to the Robbery Homicide department of the Los Angeles Police Department. ""Robbery Homicide is handling the investigation,"" Bruce Borihanh, a Public Information Officer for the LAPD, confirms to Hollywood.com. ""However, right now the investigation is with the coroner's office, so they are the lead right now.""

In response to why the transfer was made, Borihanh says, ""It's an undetermined [case] right now, so Robbery Homicide usually handles high profile cases. Since there's such a huge interest, Robbery Homicide has the resources to handle all the inquiries.""

In a previous statement given to People.com, a representative for the LAPD noted that there is no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity. However, Stallone's cause of death remains undetermined as the LA County Coroner's Office awaits the results of the toxicology tests, which normally take at least six weeks.
