COLDWATER (WTVB) -Coldwater this month has already hit the century mark or higher on four occasions and at least a high of 100 was forecast for yesterday, but it didn’t happen, although we tied the record high for Tuesday when the temperature reached 98 degrees. It was also 98 on July 17th back in 1931. One record that was broken yesterday was Consumers Energy shattering the old mark for daily electrical output set last year on July 21st. National Weather Service West Michigan meteorologist T.J. Turnage says this summer blow torch is very comparable to the dust bowl conditions of the 1930’s in terms of frequency of high temperatures over 100 degrees.
