BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) - A young woman serving in the Army on military leave was killed overnight in Branch County in a fiery traffic accident in Sherwood Township.
Sheriff’s Deputies say 21-year old Natasha Richardson of Sturgis was trapped inside a Ford Mustang after it rolled over and burst into flames on M-60 just west of Ralston road. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s sister, 23-year old Catherine Richardson, also of Sturgis, was a passenger in the car but was able to crawl away from the wreckage. She was taken to Bronson hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment. Deputies reported the sisters were on their way home from Battle Creek to Sturgis when the accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
