Deron Williams and Carmelo Anthony had 19 points apiece to help Team USA whip Great Britain 118-to-78 in Thursday's Olympic exhibition game at Manchester Arena. Since the "Dream Team" debuted in 1992, the U.S. has gone 40-and-1 in exhibition games. The U.S. will resume its five-game exhibition schedule on Sunday against Argentina in Barcelona, Spain. Team USA's first game at the Olympics is July 29th versus France.
The NBA's Board of Governors approved changes Thursday to instant replay, which will now include the designation of flagrant fouls and allow referees to use replay in the final two minutes of regulation or in overtime of games for two scenarios: to determine if a player was inside the restricted area during block/charge fouls and to review goaltending calls. NBA commissioner David Stern also said the league would discuss putting rules in place to prevent flopping. The NBA also indicated it would consider placing small advertising patches on uniforms, starting with the 2013-14 season as a way to bulk up revenue.
