BATTLE CREEK (WTVB) - A Battle Creek native who was raped while rowing solo around the perimeter of Lake Michigan for charity has resumed her trip. Jenn Gibbons says that despite the assault, she plans to finish her journey, although she has changed how she will achieve her circumnavigation of the lake. Gibbons was attacked early Sunday inside the small enclosed part of the boat where she slept. In a post on Row4row.org, Gibbons says she's talking about the assault in hopes of finding whoever attacked her. Police are looking for a man in his 30s, about five-foot-eight, with light color eyes, facial hair and an average build. He was wearing a gray-green T-shirt, jean shorts and tennis shoes. She will be riding a bike from Manistique to Muskegon, hugging the shoreline as much as possible, and accompanied by others for her protection. Then she will climb back aboard her rowboat and finish the trip, stopping in ports when she does come ashore.
