It’s a dozen days until the Lion’s pre-season opener at home against the Browns and Detroit coach Jim Schwartz is pounding home the message every day in training camp that there must be no repeat of last year’s huge run-up of penalties. Lion’s linebacker Stephen Tulloch said after yesterday’s third day of camp in Allen Park that the team is committed to cutting back on mistakes. Mikel Leshoure sat out Sunday’s practice with a pulled hamstring while fellow running back Jahvid Best still hasn’t been cleared to practice because of last season’s concussion problems and remains on the physically unable to perform list. Offensive lineman Jeff Backus also missed yesterday’s workout because of a thumb injury suffered Saturday. Wideout Ryan Broyles and offensive lineman Jonathan Scott were taken off the non-football injury list.
