MACKANAC BRIDGE (WKZO) -- It was a pretty spectacular sight yesterday as the S.S.Keewatin made its way under the Mackinac Bridge on its way to Port McNicoll, Ontario. The ship is on course and on schedule.
Back at its former home, work has already begun to turn the water front dock in Douglas where the big ship has spent the last half century into a new marina. Owner R.J. Peterson says the only thing holding him up is getting all the proper paperwork and permits for dredging and construction taken care of. By the end of the summer, you may not be able to tell the S.S. Keewatin was ever there. .
