KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Have you ever ridden in a Ford Tri-motor? It’s not a car, its an airplane, a very old airplane, in fact it was the first plane used as a commercial airliner back in the 20’s and 30’s. They have 2 at the Air Zoo and to keep them flying they give rides.
Pilot Cody Welch says they may be museum pieces but they were built to fly. They will be giving rides this weekend thru next wed. The flight is sort of an aerial tour of Kalamazoo.
After that they hit the road, barnstorming the Midwest, making the plane work for its keep.
The planes are owned by the Air Zoo and they are based in Kalamazoo.Rides cost $80 which is a bargain compared to what they charge to ride in a B-17 or a liberator. You can book them through the Air Zoo.
