The Lions will hold a mandatory three-day minicamp starting today in Allen Park. No pads or contact will be allowed during this final set of offseason workouts. Defensive end Cliff Avril is not expected to join the team. Avril, who is looking for a long-term deal, has until July 16th to agree to terms or he will play the upcoming season under a one year contract.

Meanwhile, the club announced Monday it had signed former Jaguars receiver Jarett Dillard to a one-year contract. The free agent caught 29 passes for 292 yards and one touchdown last season with Jacksonville.  Dillard was a fifth-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft out of Rice. He missed most of 2009 and 2010 because of foot and ankle injuries.
