COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) _ Branch County Commissioners Tuesday approved a tax report on the County’s voter approved one mill 9-1-1 levy that will increase the allocation rate from the current three quarters of a mill to the allowed one full mill.
The one year hike will help pay for pension funds and a new phone system. It’s the first time that more than more than 75-hundredths of a mill has been levied since it was passed by voters in 1989. Kurt Spaulding, 9-1-1 director, said the extra quarter of a mill will raise 320-thousand dollars.
