LANSING (WHTC) - A new statewide poll shows Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Pete Hoekstra of Holland trailing incumbent Democrat Debbie Stabenow by nine points. The telephone survey of 500 likely voters by Rasmussen Reports shows Stabenow leading Hoekstra, the former Congressman, 48-to-39 percent with 10 percent undecided and 3 percent preferring another candidate. Hoekstra is one of four candidates seeking the GOP nomination. The others are charter school advocate Clark Durant, former Kent County juvenile judge Randy Hekman and American Family Association activist Gary Glenn. The poll has a margin of error of 4.5 percent.
