LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder has signed a package of bills sponsored by Senator Tonya Schuitmaker of Lawton.  The legislation is meant to afford greater protections for the elderly from scam artists, stiffen sentences for exploiting or abusing seniors, and address other abusive, neglectful, and predatory practices.  One of the bills will create a media notification system, similar to the Amber Alert system for missing kids, to help locate missing seniors.
