FLINT (WKZO) -- Michigan State Police trooper Platt Weinrick of Shiawassee County is in serious condition in Germany after an attack on his Army base in Afghanistan on Tuesday.  Weinrick is serving in the war zone in the Army Reserve, and his wife says he has lost an eye from the attack.  She says he did not suffer any brain damage, but does have shrapnel in his skull.
