COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Workers seeking seasonal jobs last month brought about an increase in Branch County’s jobless rate. It moved up from 7.6% in April to 8% in May. However, it’s an improvement from May of 2011 when the rate was 10.1%. State officials say job gains were led by an increase in leisure and hospitality services. Other advances included trade, transportation and utilities and construction.
