Britani Upston Signs With KCC

TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) - A Tekonsha high school girl’s basketball standout has signed a letter of intent to play women’s basketball at Kellogg Community College. Britni Upston will begin playing with the KCC Bruins for the upcoming fall season. During her time playing basketball at TekonshaHigh School, Upston made 1st Team All-Conference for the past two seasons, during which she was also Most Valuable Player and was a member of the Southern Central Athletic Association league champions for three years beginning in 2010.

Kyle Klingaman, head women’s basketball coach at Kellogg Community College, said Upston is a small-town girl with a big heart who loves the game of basketball. According to Klingaman, Upston has a great work ethic and is a very versatile player with a decent inside/outside game that will help the Bruins be very competitive this season.

KCC yesterday also announced that Lauren Mengel, a 3-year varsity player at Marshall High School, has signed a letter of intent to play women’s basketball for the Bruins during the fall 2012 season.
