Seven year veteran safety Sean Jones has signed a one year deal with the Lions. The 30-year old Jones had 71 tackles last year withTampaBayand has 17 career interceptions during his seasons with the Buccaneers, the Eagles, and Browns.

To make room for Jones on the roster, Detroit on Monday released safety Sam Proctor, who signed last month as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma.
