GIRARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) - Two teenage girls from Quincy escaped life threatening injuries last night after their car struck two trees and rolled onto its top in Girard Township. The Branch County Sheriff’s Department said 18-year old Courtney Joy Wiley was able to crawl out of the vehicle and walk to a nearby residence to get help.
They were able to assist the passenger, 17-year old Amanda Rae Goheen, out of the vehicle. Wiley and Goheen were taken to the Community Health Center of Branch County for treatment. Goheen was later transferred to Bronson hospital in Kalamazoo to deal with a bone fracture.
The crash happened around 8:50 p.m. on a gravel portion of Bidwell Road west of Dean Road. Both girls were wearing their seatbelts and deputies said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
