DETROIT (WKZO) -- Detroit police say an 11-year-old boy took his mother's vehicle and ended up hitting a light pole.  The accident on Spinoza near Joy Road on the city's west side early Thursday left the child with only bumps and bruises.

Police say it's the second time the boy has taken his mom's vehicle and this time he reached speeds of 90-miles-per-hour before hitting the pole.  It took fire crews around 40 minutes to get the boy out of the vehicle and he was taken to Children's Hospital for treatment.
