The Pistons have traded guard Ben Gordon and a future first-round draft choice to the Charlotte Bobcats for swingman Corey Maggette. The two teams swapped their highest-paid players, with the Bobcats gaining a pick for assuming the cost of Gordon's longer contract.
Gordon has another guaranteed year for over $12 million, plus a player option for the 2013-2014 season at over $13 million. Maggette has only one year remaining on his deal at just under $11 million.
Gordon averaged 12.5 points in 52 games with Detroit last season in his third year with the Pistons, who will save 15-million dollars in cap space with the deal. Maggette averaged 15 points in 32 games with the Bobcats last year
