Pittsburgh Penguins superstar captain Sidney Crosby has agreed to a 12-year, 104-million-dollar contract extension. The deal cannot officially be signed until the start of free agency on Sunday. The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his current contract, with the extension running through the 2024-25 season.
Crosby was limited to just 22 games last season while battling concussion-related symptoms from a hit in January 2011. Crosby helped lead the Pens to a Stanley Cup title in 2009 when Pittsburgh beat the Red Wings with a Game 7 victory in Detroit.
