LANSING, MI - The Michigan State Police are getting creative in trying to prevent drunk driving over the coming July 4th holiday period. The Office of Highway Safety Planning is sending out 200 talking urinal cakes to go into bathrooms in bars and restaurants in Bay, Delta, Ottawa and Wayne counties. The little devices will tell guys using the bathroom to call a cab or get a sober friend to drive them home. They're being used as part of the drunk driving enforcement next week throughout the state.
