The Red Wings Played Short-Handed Last Night In A Loss At Philadelphia

by

The Red Wings suffered their second loss in-a-row last night as the Flyers beat Detroit 3-to-2 in Philadelphia. The Red Wings were short handed as leading scorer Pavel Datsyuk, captain Nicklas Lidstrom, forward Todd Bertuzzi and goalie Jimmy Howard all sat out with injuries.

Henrik Zetterberg gave Detroit an early lead with a goal at the game's four minute mark and then the Flyers answered with 3 straight goals before Johan Franzen found the net in the third period for the Red Wings.  Joey MacDonald had 23 saves for Detroit

The Red Wings, who have lost 5 of 7 after a six game winning streak, will host Los Angeles Friday night.

Tonight in the ECHL at Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo takes on the Cincinnati Cyclones.
