MACOMB (WKZO) -- U.S. Senator Carl Levin has called for a hearing to address plans to cut personnel at Selfridge Air National Guard base. Levin has scheduled a hearing for March 20th for the Senate Armed Services Committee to meet and discuss the issue.
A recent report by the Air Force says that they will eliminate Selfridge's twenty-four A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft while adding air refueling tankers. The move would cost the base roughly 720-jobs.
