The Tigers yesterday ended up in their third tie game of spring training when their game with the Mets at Lakeland was called with the score at 7-7 after ten innings.
Andy Oliver, who is in contention for the fifth spot in Detroit’s starting rotation, pitched the final four innings and allowed only one hit with two strikeouts. The Tiger’s Grapefruit League record is now 6-1-and-3.
Tonight, Detroit plays the Washington Nationals at Melbourne, Florida. The Tigers yesterday released pitcher David Pauley. The 28-year-old right-hander came over to the Tigers, along with Doug Fister, from the Seattle Mariners at last year's trade deadline.
