BRIDGMAN (WKZO) -- There has been a series of problems with the Palisades Plant in Covert Township and now one of the reactors at the Cook nuclear reactor has shut down because of a generator problem. It happened as the reactor was being powered back up after a scheduled fueling outage.
Cook spokesperson Bill Schalk says that some kind of problem occurred, which caused a unit to shut down automatically. He says they are trying to determine what went wrong. Schalk says that all safety systems operated as they should have, adding that customers should notice no difference in service.
There's no estimate as to when the unit could be ready to go back online.
