LANSING (WKZO) -- Legislation has been signed into law by Governor Snyder aimed at providing better protection for kids from sex offenders, including their own parents. The new state law now mirrors federal law that allows the family court to terminate the parents' rights of moms or dads who are required to register as a sex offender. In a statement, Snyder said protecting children from, quote, "any type of abuse is a key priority."
