When it comes to Spider-Man movie posters, there hasn't always been a great deal of variety. The pieces of artwork for the three films in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man series generally all depicted the webbed hero hovering above the New York City skyline, or clutching the side of a skyscraper. Director Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man follows suit. Only this time.... it's at night.
There's really no better way to plug a Spider-Man flick. You've got to showcase his powers the best thing about his powers is the opportunity for air-travel. Plus, if you have New York City as your backdrop, you've already got a clear winner. So maybe this new poster for The Amazing Spider-Man (starring Andrew Garfield) will further criticisms that this movie will be too similar to Raimi's Tobey Maguire trilogy. But honestly, this is the formula for a Spider-Man poster that works. And, hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
