Former Tiger Brandon Inge continued his tear with a three run home run and four RBI’s as the A’s crushed the Tigers 11-to-4 last night in Oakland in game two of the 4-game set. Over his past five games, Inge has homered four times, including two grand slams, and has driven in 16 runs. He has four, four-RBI games during that time and is the first player to accomplish that since Yankee great Lou Gehrig turned the feat in 1931.
Miguel Cabrera drove in a pair of runs for Detroit while Rick Porcello slipped to 3-and-3 for the Tigers, who have exchanged wins and losses over their past 12 games.
The White Sox shutout the Royals 5-to-0 last night in Chicago while the Cubs lost 8-to-7 in 13-innings at Milwaukee.
