LANSING (WKZO) – Most, but not all of the buildings that used to be head-quarters for the Michigan State Police in Lansing are being demolished. A demolition firm and its equipment arrived at the site last week to begin the three-million dollar-four month long project.
Part of the cost will be paid for by the state of Michigan. The buildings being razed are owned by Michigan State University. Officials say they have no need for most of the structures, but will leave a few standing. The top brass of the State Police moved into its new state of the art headquarters in downtown Lansing in 2010.
