BLOOMFIELD (WKZO) -- An 18-year-old from Bloomfield Township died on Saturday as a result of smoking synthetic marijuana also known as K-2 or Spice. According to the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office, Oliver Smith's cause of death is listed as drug abuse.
K-2 is potentially linked to two recent Oakland County homicides. Tucker Cipriano and Mitchell Young, accused in the baseball bat beatings of Cipriano's family, reportedly smoked Spice before the attack. 18-year-old Jonathan Hoffman of West Bloomfield may have been smoking Spice before he argued with his grandmother, who is on trial for shooting him to death.
