COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Tibbits Opera House goes Hollywood tonight with its 33rd annual benefit auction. Volunteers have rolled out the red carpet, gathered their own paparazzi and invited guest stars like Marilyn Monroe, Mae West, W.C. Fields and Harpo Marx. They are inviting the public to browse and bid on nearly 500 items donated by businesses and individuals from throughout the area. The silent auction begins at 6:15 in the art gallery. The live auction begins on stage at 8 pm with Spieth and Satow Auctioneers leading the event. The auction is Tibbits’ largest fundraiser and a local tradition. Funds raised support the general operations and programming for Branch County’s center for the arts. There is no admission for the event and food and refreshments are available.
