Tiger’s third baseman Miguel Cabrera has been chosen by his peers has the best  player in the Majors. The annual Player’s Choice Awards were announced last night  and Cabrera was voted in September as Player of the Year and Outstanding American League Player. He became the first player this season  since 1967 to win the Triple Crown.

This year’s American League Most  Valuable Player award, voted on by the Baseball Writer’s Association of America, will be announced November 15^th.
