LANSING (WKZO) -- U.S. Congressman John Dingell continues his run as the longest-serving member of Congress after winning election to his 30th term.
Having served in Congress since Dwight Eisenhower was president, the 86-year-old Dingell is the Dean of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Dean of the Michigan congressional delegation. If he serves until June 8th, 2013, Dingell will become the longest-serving member of Congress in U.S. history.
Dingell soundly defeated Republican candidate Cynthia Kallgre in the newly re-mapped 12th Congressional district this week.
