Looking at what's next after defeat of Michigan's Emergency Manager law

REGIONAL 2010 (WKZO) -- The rejection of Governor Snyder’s Emergency Manager Law by the state’s voters won’t necessarily mean that anything enacted while in it was in place is automatically null and void.

The Muskegon Heights Public Schools has hired a private firm to operate their system as a Charter School under their Emergency Manager.

School Board Trustee Darryl Todd says they have already reverted to the original EM Law which restricts the authority of emergency manager but that too is now being challenged in court.

Donald Weatherspoon is their Emergency manager.  For now he will have to focus on financial issues and leave academic decisions to the school board.
