LANSING (WKZO) -- Triple-A of Michigan is expecting travel for the Thanksgiving holiday to be plenty busy, as usual.
Triple-A estimates that 1.34-million Michigan residents will travel at least 50 miles from home over the holiday period, up seven-percent from last year. A total of 43.6-million Americans are expected to travel that far nationwide during the period starting Wednesday the 21st and ending Sunday the 25th.
89-percent in Michigan are expected to travel by vehicle with gas prices expected to be around 3.56, up almost a dime from last year. Nearly eight-percent are expected to travel by air, with nearly three-percent traveling by train or bus.
