honors continued to be handed out on Tuesday. Oakland Athletics skipper Bob Melvin and the Washington Nationals' Davey Johnson have been named the 2012 Managers of the Year for the American and National League, respectively, by the Baseball Writers Association of America. Today, the pitchers get their due as the Cy Young Award winners will be announced and then tomorrow, the Most Valuable Player of each league will be named. Tiger fans are waiting to find out if Justin Verlander and Miguel Cabrera will be recognized by the writers and help take away some of the sting of Detroi being swept in the Fall Classic by the World Champion San Francisco Giants. Yesterday, the Tigers met in Detroit with free agent outfielder Torii Hunter. The 16-year veteran has said he would like to make a decision on a team within the next two weeks. The Yankees, Red Sox, Rangers, Braves and Dodgers are interested in Hunter as well.
