LANSING, MI (WKZO) -- The Michigan League for Public Policy is pushing the state House to get to work on creating a state-operated health insurance exchange. All states had faced a deadline of Friday to set up their own or face the prospect of having the Federal Government impose one on the state under the Affordable Care Act. . The Obama Administration has now pushed the deadline back a month because of the election.
That has encouraged some state house members who would prefer a locally controlled exchange to change their position on the issue. The state Senate passed legislation to create the exchange over a year ago, and Governor Snyder has backed it.
