COVERT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO) -- Van Buren County’s Narcotics Unit think they have found evidence of large marijuana plantations that have existed apparently for sometime off 38th Avenue in Covert Township.
They found about 17 hundred small plants growing that had the potential to one day produce marketable pot. They are giving it a value of 1.7-million, That’s assuming it had been allowed to grow to full size. They also found a hand dug well for watering the plants and a tent.
Deputies also found previous clearings and old fertilizer bags from previous crops. They are following leads and tips and trying to link the operations to one or more growers.
They think it may be linked to a chain of plantations found in August in the 78-thousand block of 40thAvenue. The fields are in remote isolated areas accessible only by off road vehicles.
