 Red Wing’s forward Valtteri Filppula wouldn’t be able to suit up for Detroit. He’s expected to miss the next six-to-eight weeks because of a sprained MCL. Filppula suffered the injury to his right knee on Tuesday while playing in Finland. He has one year left on his contract. He scored a career-high 23 goals for the Red Wings last season.
