Thousands of Michigan residents have signed a petition to secede from the United States.  In the wake of President Obama's re-election, a petition has been circulating asking the President's administration to peacefully grant Michigan permission to withdraw from the United States of America to create its own government.  So far, more than 18-thousand-signatures have been gathered
