ANN ARBOR, MI (WTVB) - Michigan's economy is expected to grow over the next couple years. According to the annual University of Michigan economic forecast, Michigan will add nearly 51,000 jobs in 2013 and 63,000 in 2014. For this year, the state is predicted to end up adding about 46,000 jobs. Economists project a continuing period of moderate growth over the next two years. Even with that growth, officials say the state will have recovered just one-third of the jobs lost between 2000 and 2009.
