Michigan-native Brad Keselowski has won his first Sprint Cup championship. Keselowski, from Rochester Hills, finished 15th in NASCAR's season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway to become the first driver other than Jimmie Johnson or Tony Stewart to win the title since 2004
The victory was also the first Sprint Cup championship for the owner of the number-two car, Roger Penske. Jimmie Johnson entered the race in second in the points standings, but did not finish due to a mechanical problem, going to the garage with 40 laps left and he slipped to third in the standings.
Clint Bowyer finished second at Homestead to grab second place in the "Chase," 39 points behind Keselowski and one point ahead of Johnson. Kasey Kahne and Greg Biffle round out the top-five. Jeff Gordon captured the checkered flag at Homestead to finish 10th in the final standings
