Taylor netted NCAA-record 138 points in Grinnell’s 179-to-104 win over Faith Baptist Bible on Tuesday. The 5-foot-10 sophomore took an astonishing 71 shots from beyond the arc and made 27 of them. He was 52-of-108 from the field overall.
Taylor had 58 points at halftime. Bevo Francis of Rio Grande University in Ohio held the NCAA single-game scoring record with 113 against Hillsdale College back in 1954. Grinnell is a Division Three school in Iowaand has led the nation in scoring in 15 of its last 17 seasons.
