DETROIT (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder is going to Canada Monday to push for a new international crossing, among other business. The "Detroit Free Press" reports Snyder negotiated an agreement with the Canadian government to fund construction of a new bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor.
The owner of the Ambassador Bridge, Manuel "Matty" Moroun paid for an effort to require voter approval before a new international bridge could be created. Voters nixed that proposal.
Snyder will be in Toronto Monday, first to announce the opening of a state office in partnership with the Council of Great Lakes Governors.
