Several days of temperatures in the upper 50’s and lower 60’s this week in Branch County, including Thanksgiving Day, have vanished and below normal readings for late November have invaded the area along with a few flurries right in time for the county’s first of the season Christmas Parade, which steps off tonight in Union City at seven o’clock. The parade route begins at Robbins Auto Value on the north end of the village near M-60. Before that, it might be a good idea to warm up with free hot chocolate and doughnut holes from 6-to-7 p.m. at the hospitality tent downtown. The man in the big red suit will arrive in the parade and then Santa Claus will meet and greet children at the Southern Michigan Bank and Trust branch on North Broadway street. Coldwater's Hometown Holidays celebration will take place a week from today with a Christmas parade next Saturday morning starting at 10 am. Santaland will be open from 11 am until 1 pm that day, as well as on Saturday, December 8th.
