COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Coldwater Police and Branch County authorities say they were notified late last night that a missing Battle Creek area man who was considered at risk of suicide is safe after being discovered near St. Louis, Missouri. Police say 60-year old David Newberry called from a motel and said he was o-k after hitchhiking to St. Louis. An alert to be on the lookout for Newberry was issued Sunday night when he was last seen walking in a Wal-Mart parking area along U.S. 12 on the east side of Coldwater. No other details about Newberry being located or his condition have been released by police.
