Miles is staying at LSU. The university announced that Miles will receive a salary increase and contract extension to remain head coach through 2019 in what amounts to a 2-year extension. There were reports this week thatArkansashad offered Miles a 5-year, 27.5-million-dollar deal to become their head coach.
His 8 seasons with LSU includes one BCS national championship. Miles graduated from Michiganin 1976 and played for the Wolverines under Bo Schembechler. He also coached on 6 Big-10 title teams and 10 bowl teams atMichiganin 2 separate stints.
