LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder is proposing a 599-mile trail that would showcase some of the state's forested areas, prairies, waterways and open lands. Snyder wants the trail to be open year-round and it would stretch from Detroit's Belle Isle to Wisconsin, connecting existing trails. Snyder says he got the idea from a snowmobiling trip he took in 2010 from Marquette to Escanaba.
